Engineers Week is a week long programme of nationwide events with the aim of celebrating the world of engineering in Ireland. The aim of the week is to create a positive and spark enthusiasm about the engineering profession to people of various ages and with little or no engineering background.
Engineers Week 2010 will take place, for the fourth successive year, from the 8th-13 thFebruary . The week itself will include a wide variety of free interactive events all around the country including robot workshops, rocket building and launching, knex-challenge marathons etc. During the week engineering organisations across Ireland will open their doors to their communities in an effort to stimulate an interest in the engineering profession.
Engineers Week 2009 was a great success with 19,500 participants and over 80 organisations taking part nationwide and we are expecting a bigger and better event this year. All participants in this year’s event will be in with the chance of winning a fantastic trip to visit the European Space Agency in the Netherlands.
